We’re pleased to share an important update about the future of RealSense ID.
Ahead of RealSense's previously announced definitive agreement to be acquired by Cognex, our facial authentication business will become an independent company: RealSense ID.
The spinout is the next step in RealSense ID’s growth. As an independent company, RealSense ID will focus on biometric authentication, identity and Vision AI, with dedicated resources to support continued innovation and growth.
RealSense ID will be well capitalized and backed, with current and new strategic investors providing the additional resources and industry expertise to advance our technology and expand our market reach.
What This Means for You
- Continuity: The existing RealSense ID team will transition to the new company, maintaining the product expertise, relationships and support you rely on today.
- Dedicated focus: RealSense ID will operate independently, with growth strategy and roadmap centered on biometric authentication, identity and Vision AI.
- Continued investment: Dedicated funding will support ongoing product development and expansion of our capabilities.
The spinout is expected to be completed in Q4 2026.
